Shane can be heard on a new film soundtrack. Artemis Fowl tells the story of a young criminal prodigy who hunts down a secret society of fairies to find his missing father. The Disney film is directed by Kenneth Branagh with music by Patrick Doyle.
Two new CD's are released this month with Britten Sinfonia. On 3rd April, a live recording of James Macmillan's Symphony No. 5 'Le grand Inconnu' & The Sun Danced with The Sixteen will be released and can be purchased here. On 17th April, the highly anticipated recording of Thomas Ades and the Britten Sinfonia playing Beethoven and Barry is released. This first CD features Beethoven's first three symphonies, interspersed with Barry's piece 'Beethoven' and his Piano Concerto and it can be purchased here.
Shane recently performed at the Andermatt Music Winter Festival with The English Classical Players. This four day festival included performances of some of Beethoven's greatest works to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the composer's birth in the stunning surroundings of Andermatt, Switzerland.
Shane recently played in a concert featuring Britten Sinfonia and The Sixteen at The Barbican in London. Shane recently played in the BBC PROMS. PROM 52 featured Ryan Wigglesworth conducting the Britten Sinfonia in a concert of musical homages, including Tchaikovsky's suite of 'Mozartiana' and Stravinsky's tribute to Tchaikovsky The Fairy's Kiss. A special concert to mark the sensational 37 year career of Sir Stephen Cleobury as the director of music at King's College, Cambridge was recently recorded for BBC Radio 3. Shane recently performed in a sell-out concert at The London Palladium with the iconic English rock band Procol Harum. The concert featured their much loved song, 'A Whiter Shade of Pale' - one of the few singles to have sold over 10 million copies.

Shane appeared on a BBC documentary about a super sewer that is being built underneath London. The London Banqueting Ensemble can be seen performing at a banquet at Fishmonger's Hall in London for all of the engineers working on the project. Shane has been deputising on The Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Antony and Cleopatra at The Barbican in London. Described as one of Shakespeare's greatest love stories, this fresh interpretation stars Josette Simon and Antony Byrne in the title roles, with music by singer-songwriter Laura Mvula. Shane has recently come back from a trip to Pune, India where he performed with Bollywood composers Ajay-Atul. The performance took place in the Balewadi Stadium and Shane had the honour of opening the show with the iconic trumpet theme from Jay Jay Survar Pujit to a packed audience of 45,000 people!
Shane has been filming for the fifth series of Endeavour. Based on the Inspector Morse novels by Colin Dexter, Shaun Evans returns as the recently promoted Detective Sergeant Endeavour Morse, with Poldark actor Lewis Peek joining the cast for the ITV prequel. Endeavour will return in 2018.
Shane has been in the studio recording the music for a new film. 'Darkest Hour' tells the story of Winston Churchill's (Gary Oldman) early time in office. The film is due to be released in November. More information and the film trailer can be seen here.
Shane has been working with multi-award winning composer Jocelyn Pook on a recent commission by the Mental Health Foundation. Anxiety Fanfare is written in five movements and draws on the unique potential of professional and nonprofessional singers. Shane can be heard on the French Tenor - Roberto Alagna's latest album. 'Malena' features mainstream and popular Classical hits, as well as brand new songs written especially for Alagna. The CD is available to buy here.
On 8th October, Shane will be performing with Sinfonia Cymru in a concert to commemorate 50 years since the Aberfan disaster. S4C have commissioned a special piece, Cantata Memoria, which will receive its world premiere at the concert. Composed and conducted by Karl Jenkins, it features some of Wales' most celebrated artists; Bryn Terfel, Elin Manahan Thomas, David Childs and Catrin Finch. The concert will be broadcast at 7.30pm on Sunday 9th October on TV channel S4C.
On 1st September, Shane performed a new commission for Soprano, Trumpet and Percussion by Naresh Sohal. The event was to reopen Britain's oldest Asian theatre - Tara Arts Theatre. The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan was guest of honour at the opening ceremony and the event was featured on the BBC Breakfast Show. You can view some footage from the event here.

Shane can be heard on a new CD of sacred choral works by Dan Locklair. The CD brings together pieces composed with texts that come from across the liturgical year, and Shane can be heard playing on the central work 'Gloria' - featuring large choral forces, brass octet and percussion. Shane is delighted to have been appointed as the Trumpet Tutor at DLD Sixth Form College in London. The College's brand new purpose built campus overlooks Westminster and the River Thames and houses state of the art facilitues including a recording studio, practice rooms and a concert hall.

Shane has recently been on tour to the Canary Islands with Britten Sinfonia. Joined by the National Choir of Spain, the orchestra performed in two concerts in Gran Canaria and Tenerife as part of the Canary Islands Music Festival. Shane recently recorded a Carol Service at Central Hall, Westminster for Premier Christian Radio. The service is due to be broadcast at 1pm on Christmas Day and at 5pm on Boxing Day.

On Christmas morning, Shane will be featured as a soloist at the KICC Christmas From Around The World. He will perform Gabriel's Oboe with The London Soloists as part of the celebrations.
A brand new state of the art concert hall has been built at Shane's old school in Saffron Walden. Saffron Hall will play host to a year-round programme of music, theatre and other arts events. The project has been generously supported by The Yellow Car Charitable Trust, the same charity that helped to launch Shane's Classical Crossover Demo CD. This is fantastic news for Saffron Walden and the arts!
Shane was involved with the recording of Steven Sondheim's 'Merrily We Roll Along'. This production recieved more five star reviews than any other in West End history. On 7th and 8th November, Shane will be at Pinewood Studios filming a scene for 'Snow White And The Huntsman'. On 23rd June, Shane performed at Cambridge University with Triumph Brass at the Honorary Degree Ceremony. Among the illustrious figures who recieved honorary degrees from the university were theatre director Sir Trevor Nunn, the university's former Vice-Chancellor Dame Alison Richard and conductor Sir Colin Davies. This event also marked Prince Philip's final engagement as Chancellor.

On Friday 9 July, Shane graduated from The Royal College of Music. He was also awarded the Herbert Samuel Memorial Prize for Trumpet.
